What's Happening in the Hols???

Hey guys! So its approaching the end of the half term holidays, which, for me, means I have to pick my options for my GCSE's in a couple of weeks. It's going too fast to believe!
Anyways, I thought I'd just share with you what I've done so far.
SO, like I mentioned in my last blog post, I went to oxford university as a part of a trip with my mosque youth club. It was amazing! The university predates back into the 1600's and was built by the wife of a famous man (I forgot his name XD) who asked his wife to build a university after his death and so she did. The building reminds me of an ancient castle with its turrets and historical foundations. The university is split up into around 40 different colleges depending on the different courses, subjects and degrees. They are actually really posh! They have formal dinners where the students have to dress in their black gowns, go to the main hall and have a three course meal with the rest of the college students. Also, we were meant to see the main hall but they were having a wine-tasting session with all the ministers of the school!
The students get to have their own rooms. they don't have to share with any room-mates but in fact they get massive rooms to themselves! I realllllllllly want to go to Oxford when I'm older. Fingers crossed!
I've also been going to loads of sleepover with the cuzzies where we've been baking brownies, messing around with make-up and much more. We had such fun! I can't forget the way we all started screaming as soon as the lights went out because it was pitch black and then we spent like an hour rearranging the bedding so that we could all sleep together so we weren't so scared. And then in the morning, we had brownies and muffins with frothy hot chocolate and fluffy, sweet, whipped cream on top and finished the delicate shavings of divine chocolate. IT WAS HEAVENLY!
We also went to the hospital for my little brother as he had an appointment at GOSH. This meant we had to wake up at 6 in the morning and get ready by 8 o'clock for the hospital transport to come pick us p. They came an hour late meaning we woke up early for no reason! But then we had a nice long nap in the ambulance- well my dad certainly did, he was snoring his head off! We got there and were seen straight away but then the ophthalmologist had to consult with some senior person and we were told to wait 20 minutes but that turned into 2 hours. I just entertained myself by playing with all the kiddie toys and painting on paper plates. I tried so hard to make it come across as though I was only playing to accompany my little bro but I was sooooo bored!
So that's all I've been up to in the hols.
So yeah...

Well, bye, I guess...
Daym, why is this bit always so awkward? O_o (!)

Half way through the year...

Can you believe it?! Can you actually?! No, its actually unbelievably scary that we are half way through the school year already-meaning we only have half left!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am terrified knowing that a few months later, I'll be getting ready for my GCSE's!!!!! It feels like only yesterday, I started high school, that timid, shy little girl with her brand new PE kit and her brand new rucksack filled with her brand new stationary! Aahhh, the memories... Ok SNAP OUT OF IT! So today is the first day of our holidays! I'm really excited! Apart from doing the 3,000,000 tonnes of homework we were set, I'm going to be trying out some new baking recipes, new DIY creations, taking a trip to oxford university with my mosque club and much more. I'm also going to try and get along with my two most annoying brothers in the world!
Mmmmm... I can smell something wonderful, wafting through the kitchen. The most aromatic fragrances are emanating from the dish in which my mum's famous heavily-spiced lamb rice is brewing away oh so gently, tingling my nostrils making me want to dig right in!(TALK ABOUT DRAMATIC!)
Ok so slightly off topic....
ANYways.....I am so excited about my holidays. To be honest, I don't even know why?!
Oh! Nearly forgot to tell you about something. Don't you just hate those days when you are so tired and its like 9 pm but then your mum has a sudden urge to make your house the tidiest its ever been, sparkling and gleaming and free of any dirt?! Well that happened. And it wasn't very pleasant.... I had to tidy my whole room! And trust me, when you see my room, its like an avalanche of clothes and stray socks or random tissues that always end up in my room...(?) And  I had to tidy it ALL. By myself! At 9pm! When I'm reallllllly tired! Oh yes and don't forget the wardrobe, seriously, its like a veryyyyyy messy Narnia in there! Oh yeah, who remembers Narnia?!
ANyways, I have to go and get started on the 3,000,000 tonnes of homework I got (sliiiiiiiiight exaggeration!)
Bye now!

Success at the Mosque!

OH My WOW! I have not written on this for agggggggggggggggggggges! seriously! I think my last post was back in the beginning on January or something! Anyyyyways, I've finally found the time to do this, so I'll do a good one. As you guys all know, I go to the local mosque club on Fridays? remember? well you should, coz that's all I actually go on about! Anyways, this Friday that just went, we decorated canvases with paint-obviously! And....*BREAKING NEWS*...this project was actually a success! First we painted the whole A5 canvas black and then let that dry and then on top we could write or draw whatever we wanted. I chose to do my name-well what could look better than the name 'Maryam' on a canvas?!?!-in Arabic and so I got the henna cone plastic thingamajigalig, filled it with gold paint and started to...whats the word?....well....paint out my name! To be ABSOLUTELY truthful, i did actually drop the canvas while i was writing my name with the paint, but just as i could start to panic and scream the phrase my cousin always says in Punjabi (seriously, i don't know what the shemurr she says, but it seemed a good thing to say in this situation!)- i mentally smacked myself and realised, i could just paint over the gold explosion with the black paint. This meant i was sooooo far behind but i stilllll managed to complete it and it is DASHING!-IF I have to say so myself! And then today, i found a sudden urge to create something truly artistic and so after several attempts, i managed to draw th cutest little chibi girl ever which i am extremely proud of because lets just say that my artistic abilities are not of a very high standard! Anyways, that's it for now and until next time, keep it covered! (god, im so dramatic!) x
